Our Company's Timeline
1912 | Heinrich Vontobel establishes «Photochrom-Steindruckerei und Graphische Anstalt H. Vontobel & Co.» in Meilen, near Zurich. Vontobel is one of the first specialist companies in Switzerland to print coloured postcards. |
1929 | The company «H. Vontobel & Co.» relocates to Feldmeilen. New printing techniques also lead to more ambitious art printing. |
1971 | A new building is constructed for innovative printing technologies. «H. Vontobel & Co.», a sole proprietorship, is converted to «Vontobel Druck AG». Fine art publishing is established and developed under the leadership of Gottfried Brütsch. |
1992 | Printing and publishing are organised as separate activities. «Vontobel Kunstverlag AG» comes into being. («Vontobel Druck AG» no longer exists today.) |
1999 | Elisabeth Schärer assumes responsibility as Managing Director. She sets up a large network with reputable museums and artists and develops the company's current profile. |
2020 | Silvia Lorenz is appointed Managing Director. |
